Looking at the diet system of 80% of the world population, we would see that the types of food we eat are not up the nutritional value needed for the body consumption and growth. Imagine taking food like Rice and spaghetti to school without dietary protein like fish. This alone is enough the cause a lot of harm to the body system.

 A lot of people still also find it hard to know when they are malnourished or undernourished so as to be able to tackle it and take the proper diet needed for the body usage.



WHAT IS MALNUTRITION?

Malnutrition is defined as a diseases condition causes by eating too much, too little or an unbalances diet that does not contain the entire necessary requirement needed for nutritional status of the body.

Malnutrition occurs when the body doesn't get enough nutrients. Causes include a poor diet, digestive conditions or another disease. Therefore it is possible to eat everyday and still be malnourished.

 Under nutrition: This occurs when one does not get enough food needed for the e body processing. Some of its effect includes stunting, wasting, low body weight.

Over nutrition: This occurs when a person takes in more nutrients than the body requires. This may lead to overweight which includes obesity and diet-related non-communicable diseases (NCDs).

 

People who mostly suffer from this are women and children. In fact more than 2 billion individuals are deficient of in one or more micronutrient example includes vitamin A deficiency, Iodine deficiency, and Iron deficiency.


Causes of malnutrition

 1. Poor feeding diet

3.  Wrong food combinations

 

Symptoms of malnutrition

1. Depression

 3. Weight Loss

 4. Low body mass count and body tissue

 5. Always falling sick.

 

 

Ways to stop malnutrition

1. Enlightenment on the need for a balanced diet

2. Provision for quality food product.

3 Reduction on the intake of processed food

4 Intake of high nutritive value food such as vegetable protein, fish protein concentrate.

5. Make a dietary plan.

 

Malnutrition is very dangerous to the health of individuals as it can lead to higher rate of diseases such as cancer even in little children. Therefore it is necessary to take a proper healthy diet.
