How To Make Easy Nigeria Puff-Puff
There are different methods and recipes you can use to make your Nigerian puff puff.
It all depends on how you want it to be but to make a sweet and moderate puff puff with an easy process, here is the recipe
RECIPE
Flour - 500g
Yeast - A full spoon
Milk flavor - 5ml
Sugar - 1/2 cup
Butter- 1/2 teaspoon (a secret ingredient)
Nutmeg: A little for this 500g mix.
Salt: 2.5ml (this helps to moderate the sugar but if you want it very sweet then do not put in the salt).
Water: Add water little by little till it becomes very slimy (lukewarm).
Oil: A good oil to avoid burning.
PROCEDURES
Step 1: In a clean bowl measure in your flour.
Step 2: Then add your yeast, salt, sugar, milk flavor and nutmeg. Then mix all of them together very well.
Step 3: Then measure in your butter into the mixed dried ingredients and mix again.
Step 4: Immediately after put in your lukewarm warm little by little to the mixture and mix thoroughly while putting in the water. Do this till the mixture becomes thin and slimy.
Step 5: After this, then cover the bowl tightly to avoid air and leave it for at least 2 hours of rest.
Step 6: You would notice that the mixture rose so much (For those who want a quicker rising put the mixture either under the sun or on a hot surface for a long period of time).
Step 7: Once is rises, mix it again thoroughly and you are ready to fry.
Step 8: Immediately you put in the mixture to fry in a hot oil then leave for 30 secs (make sure you turn it continuously to avoid burning) then remove it for the oil and leave to cool or can be eaten hot as desired.
This can be taken with a cool chocolate drink.
